What were your takeaways from this conference/case competition?
I learned about innovative ways to improve our costly healthcare system. This experience was a great example of different perspectives on successfully transforming delivery of healthcare, discussions about healthcare policy and trends, market competition, and strategy, as well as the guidance about revenue cycle process, bundled payments and benchmarking. In addition, I learned that quality care is a hallmark of the ASC health care delivery model because ASCs are required to meet certain conditions set by the federal government to ensure that the facility is operated in a manner that assures the safety of patients and the quality of services.

How will your participation in this conference/case competition support your professional development?
I was able to hear from Kevin O'Leary about how to present a perfect innovative pitch. He gave three tips: 1. Articulate the opportunity in 90 second or less. 2. Convince investors that you lead the right team and execute the business plan. 3. Know your numbers and have a comprehensive understanding of your business models. Kevin also emphasized telling your story to help build relationships.
